展览前言：

　　“中日当代艺术展”是广州53美术馆的系列展览项目，2015年日本当代艺术展第三回展共邀请了13位日本当代艺术家参与驻馆创作。通过当代艺术，让日本艺术家与广州观众搭起一座文化交流的桥梁，体验彼此的内在文化能量。

　　 自2012年以来，53美术馆连续三年先后邀请了近40位活跃于日本当代艺术界的艺术家到53美术馆驻馆创作和展览，同时与广州高校师生、艺术家、艺评家、观众进行交流互动。将日本前沿的当代艺术以多维度、跨媒材的形式展现给观众。通过几年持续的展览交流，日本当代艺术的影响力在广州已逐渐“萌芽”，虽然像“胎动”一样隐约，但却隐含着强大的能量，在广州正逐步“孕育”着一种国际艺术交流的新模式。同时，也令广州当代艺术生态更加丰富多元。“胎动”展览反映了日本艺术家在当前更加多元化的国际艺术生态格局中的自我定位和思考。我们期待通过日本艺术家对广州本土的在地考察、生态介入，从新的视度进行创作，从而呈现更多不一样的“在地性”艺术创作。

　　驻地创作期间，艺术家也与广州美术学院等高校、美术馆联合举办学术讲座、工作坊等一系列活动，与广州艺术同仁、爱好者进行交流互动。增进彼此间的了解。

Preface:

“Chinese and Japanese Contemporary Art Exhibition” is the series of exhibition project of Guangzhou 53 Art Museum, this time we invite 13 Japanese contemporary artists to take part in the residence program. We want to build a bridge of cultural exchange by contemporary art, to enable Japanese artists and local audiences to experience the cultural energy within each other.

53 Art Museum has successively invited nearly 40 Japanese contemporary artists to the museum to create art works and participate in the exhibitions since 2012, and to interact with college students and teachers, artists, art critics and audiences in Guangzhou at the same time. We demonstrate Japanese cutting-edge contemporary art to the audience in multidimensional and multimedia forms. After several years’ continuous exhibitions, the influence of Japanese contemporary art in Guangzhou has been getting into the “forming stage”, although it’s as delicately as "fetal movement", it implies a powerful energy, and it is gradually "breeding" a new mode of international art exchange in Guangzhou. And the contemporary artistic ecology of Guangzhou has become more diverse by the influence. This exhibition reflects the Japanese artists’ self-image and thinking in the current diversified situations of the international artistic ecology. We are looking forward to present more various “artist-in-residence” creations by the Japanese artists’ local investigation, ecological intervention and new views of creation in Guangzhou.

During the creation period, the artists will also jointly organize lectures, workshops and a series of activities with Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, other colleges and art museums, to interact and exchange with local art colleagues and amateurs, and to enhance the understanding between each other.
